Tavolo con oggetti da barattare
Ho partecipato per la prima volta a un’iniziativa fatta dall’Associazione Gio.Core e il Comune dove abito. Ho aderito senza esitare perché volevo essere partecipe di un baratto dove non conoscesse le persone coinvolte. Io avevo già organizzato diversi tipi di baratto ( giocattoli e abitini) in passato con le mamme dell’asilo nido che frequenta la mia piccola, ma volevo vedere come ci si organizza per uno “All’aperto”. La domenica concordata, con famiglia & Co prendiamo i sacchettoni di tessuto con gli oggetti vari da barattare, tavolino e sgabello e ci rechiamo al parco dove si svolge la manifestazione. Con qualche pizzo e degli strass ho dato un pizzico di stile barocco e romantico alla mia vecchia t-shirt beige, quindi l’ho rinfrescata solo con il tempo che ho impiegato per cucire a mano il pizzo. Infatti il pizzo e gli strass sono stati riciclati da una giacca Rossodisera che ho voluto semplificare e modificare. Continua a leggere |
After the success with the Toy swapping, it was done the “Swapping chat”, I’ve named it “swapping chat”, because all we mom that took part on it had the opportunity to chat while exposing and exchanging all the stuff taken for swapping. This edition had place in a kindergarden ( BiriBiri at North of Milan) so our babies were free to move in a safe place they are used to be, then this let us to be in total relax. This time we decided to swap clothes from our babies and our garments and accessories that we were conscious won’tbe worn any more but are in perfect condition. The spirit of swapping is to give a second life to things and garments , recycling them to avoid that they will finish at the disposal and why not to renew our wardrobe without spending money, so at zero impact for the environment. People was very enthusiastic as we could swap different things, for example I took to the swapping chat many Spring Summer dresses from my baby and some handbags I was sure won’t use anymore as actually I love only cross-body handbags and came back home with 2 nice sweaters and a kind of Poncho in wool that fits me perfectly!. After this edition it was decided that we will make swapping chat more frequently, in fact our babies every 3 months change size number .. so at least twice a year we can do this nice event to exchange and take advantange of the season wardrobe changings.The garments that were not swapped will be proposed again in the next edition and if still remains then will be donated.

toys swapping
Swapping is becoming more and more popular, this is a perfect way for saving some money and be a little greener too. Toy swapping is a good idea to keep your children playing with “new” or “different” toys without spending money!. We did our first toy swapping and really had fun, our children played together and picked up and took home the toys they liked the most and mommys had some relax with tea, biscuits and enjoyed a different afternoon in company of the children.
Some rules were followed for swapping:
- Toys in good condition
- Plush toys washed
- If toys function with batteries, then batteries charged.
- Toys brought in paper bags, to eliminate plastic and everyone will get then the bag in a suitable size to bring toys to home.
-Age: almost same age to be able to exchange properly. Pay attention also about having enough toys for male and female.
-Place: you can organize at home or as an extra activity in school, in a park ( depends of the weather). In our case we met in the kindergarden right after the clousure time.
- To Be careful : Children should not pick up their own toys. If some kids want the same toy, then be patience and let’s them share for the meanwhile. Mommy can discuss later and know which toys will be really useful and how to distribute them, think that you can met again and swap again!
Mom & Children toy swapping
You can also start your own toy co-op with your friends and neighbors. You can either buy toys communally and then have them rotate on a schedule or just agree to pass on your own toys every few months.
